Facing my fears

Hey everyone,

Today a couple of friends invited me to go on a little trip to Tayto Park in Meath. For anyone who has never been this is an adventure park with different rides, attractions, animals and the worlds largest wooden rollercoaster.

I am someone who is terrified of rollercoasters and rides and I have been for my whole life. I have an awful fear of heights which is a contributing factor to my fear of rollercoasters. I’ve spent countless hours sitting, holding bags and waiting alone while my friends enjoy themselves. Today I was going to Tayto Park with the mindset that I would not be getting on the rollercoaster. I told myself last month to step out of my comfort zone more and take chances so that is exactly what I did today. I did my best to put my fear behind me and go on it and I am so happy that I did. Although I was initially terrified I actually surprised myself and enjoyed it and we even went back a second time before leaving the park!

I do not want to be a person who lets my fears and anxiety completely control me and the choices I make anymore. Do one thing every day that scares you, whether it be big or small, it will be a step forward for you.

Meg x
